Grand Canyon 2016 Celebration of Art

Grand Canyon Celebration of Art 2016 is the premier plein air painting event in the Southwest, inviting selected artists from across the country to paint at Grand Canyon National Park for a week to create beautiful works
of art focused on Grand Canyon National Park. I will hike down to Indian Garden Campground on Bright Angel Trail to camp and paint below the rim again this year. I will hike out to participate in
the Quick Draw event and Auction held at Bright Angel Trailhead on Friday, September 16. Historic Kolb Studio overlooks the Bright Angel Trail and is the venue for the public show through Janurary 2017.
"In the Temple of Light and Stone; Angel's Window" 24h x 18w transparent watercolor on 400# Arches Cold Press paper, painted with Grand Canyon spring water is my studio work for this event. This is a North Rim
view looking south across the east face of Cape Royal toward the distant San Francisco Peaks. The magical light of dawn streams through an opening in the Kiabab limestone fin known as Angel's Window.
Thanks to Grand Canyon Association for this incredible artistic event now in its eighth year.
